SACS High School - Take your Seat Fundraising Initiative

SACS has embarked on a fundraising initiative to upgrade and build facilities at the High School. These are very much needed facilities so as not to fall drastically behind our neighbouring schools. The Take you Seat Campaign is looking towards the SACS Old Boys to help keep SACS as a leading school in South Africa. SACS has a number of projects in place, starting with the building of a rugby pavilion and function/conferencing room above it. Other projects to follow will be the upgrading and refurbishing of the Media Centre, Indoor Cricket nets and upgrading the Music Wing including the iComposers Room. There are several ways in which Old Boys can contribute, please take a look here...

SACS Rugby Pavilion

SACS is raising funds to help build a rugby pavilion. We were approached by the school to help get this campaign off the ground. In the flyer, the first of many planned communications, you will read how we are asking old boys, parents and general lovers of the school to return to the campus and “take their seat”. The key to funding the pavilion, which will be used by old boys, parents and teachers alike in future, is the once-off donation of R20k, which allows you to place your name on the donor board. This donation qualifies for a tax refund up to 41%. Thus the effective cost is about R11k.

Please will you give this plea for help some thought? If that is the case please forward this onto them. A video highlighting the initiative - http://youtu.be/xN4cD3Krfek. It was made by the boys and highlights our current head boy (current first team prop). The video is bound to pull on the heart strings. So if you know of very successful old boys who are prepared to make bigger donations please forward it onto them as well.

Melbourne Dinner

On November 18th, a gathering of 9 Old Boys congregated at Bouzy Rouge, a well-known restaurant in Melbourne, in what has become a yearly get-together. The matriculation years ranged from 1977 to 1999. We were privileged to have former Western Province and Sharks fullback, Gavin Lawless, as our guest of honour. Interestingly enough, Gavin is the cousin of a SACS Old Boy, Andries Liebenberg (1986).
